Italian cold cut sandwich

Gourmet sandwich… at home

Whoever said that sandwiches should be reserved for lunchboxes and that gourmet sandwiches are best served at the deli counter? We’re here to tell you that a gourmet sandwich like this is a fine feast to be shared at home. A-hem… your gourmet meal is calling… and it’s calling from the kitchen!

The next best thing since sliced bread!

We discovered it! We didn’t invent it, but we’re so excited that Breville did. Okay…okay… maybe they didn’t invent the toaster, but they created this beauty and dare we say, re-invented the toasting experience.

You know how you’ve always wished you could check on how your toast was coming along, but every time you pop the bread out, you stop the toasting and have to restart… then you let it go too long and end up burning your toast. Ugh! The struggle is real people!

Well, with our new Breville Smart Toaster, provided by our friends at Breville, this problem is a problem no-more.

With this toaster, we have the choice to “LIFT AND LOOK” with the press of a button, then if we decide we want our bread to have a little more time under the rays, we press, “A BIT MORE” and it does just that… continuing from where it left off, rather than having to start back from zero. And by the way, the bread goes down and rises smoothly with a motorized control.

YES…I know… mind blown… right!

There’s also a volume control. So, not only does it beep when your bread or bagel automatically rises to the top when done, but for people like me, with some hearing loss, it’s nice to hear the beep. This is the first time a toaster has been so thoughtful.

But wait, there’s more. Not only is there a beep to indicate completion, but there are countdown lights too. Set your toast to the desired time and then watch the bars of light disappear slowly. Talk about toasty precision.

Don’t even get me started about the crumb tray. Ok… too late…I’ve started… Get this… it’s in the front. Breville… thank you. Talk about ease of use and cleanup. Even the little things makes me so happy.

The makings of a great gourmet sandwich.

What makes a sandwich a gourmet sandwich? It’s really all about the quality and variety of ingredients, the way it’s assembled, and the sauce that slathers the perfect bread.

Ours is just one version of awesomeness, but consider this a foundation for creating your own gourmet sandwich.

You can use a different sauce (though you really should try ours–seriously), choose different deli meats, or bread. Some may swear by the panini, others factor the type or thickness of the sliced bread. We just say, choose a delicious and fresh baked bread that you enjoy.

We love the bread we chose. Thin crust, soft crumb, and toasted to perfection. It looked almost too pretty to eat… but we got past the looks and devoured the sandwiches with no problem.

The right tools and ingredients

We always say it’s important to have excellent ingredients and the right tools to be successful and enjoy your time in the kitchen. A toaster is no exception. It’s one of the most used small appliances in our kitchen so it matters to us, and we’re thrilled with our Breville, as we sincerely are with all our Breville products.

Make simple ingredients gourmet, and eat well friends.
