Start up your grill and bring it up to about 400 to 425 °F.
Cut off the top of the pineapple.
Cut off the bottom of the pineapple.
Stand the pineapple on it's cut base, and start slicing strips of the peel with a sharp knife from the top to the bottom.
Keep rotating the pineapple and cutting strips until you've removed all of the peel.
With the pineapple still standing on the cut base, cut down the centre, length wise.
Turn the pineapple 90 degrees and cut down the pineapple again creating a cross. You should now have 4 equal quarters cut.
Cut the inside edge of each quarter to remove the pineapple core.
Cut each quarter length-wise into 2 or 3 long pieces, depending on the size of your pineapple. These shouldn't be too thin, so they don't break on the grill.
In a small bowl, whisk together the butter, maple syrup, brown sugar and cinnamon.
Oil the grill (to prevent the food from sticking to the grill)
Place the pineapple slices on the grill.
Brush the butter and maple syrup mix glaze over the slices and turn them over with tongs.
Brush the other side of the slices and close the lid.
Grill the pineapple slices for about 3 to 4 minutes.
Open the BBQ lid and turn the slices over. Brush them with the glaze again.
Close the BBQ lid and continue to grill the pineapple slices for another 3 to 4 minutes.
Open the BBQ lid and turn the slices over. Brush them with the glaze one last time.
Close the BBQ lid and continue to grill the pineapple slices for 3 more minutes.
Open the BBQ lid and remove the pineapple slices onto a serving dish. Enjoy them hot with some ice cream or on their own.
