Cast Iron Caramelized Onions and Peppers Recipe

These caramelized onions and peppers are perfect as a side, on top of your favourite sandwich or inside a tasty fajita or taco.

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 yellow bell pepper, diced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  1. Heat the olive oil in a large cast iron pan (or other large skillet) on medium high.

  2. Add the peppers, onions and garlic, and stir.

  3. Cook the peppers for about 10 minutes, staring occasionally.

  4. Add the wine, soy sauce and black pepper.

  5. Cook until the liquid has reduced by 3/4. Stir occasionally. This should take about 4 to 5 minutes.

  6. Your peppers and onions are ready to be served! Enjoy!
